Choosing between s’mores and chocolate chip cookies is a sucker’s game.  MAKE BOTH.  This handy recipe combines two classics into one awesome treat.  Admittedly, it’s impossible to get uniform coverage onto the graham crackers, but it wasn’t really a problem for us (one benefit of cooking for just two!).

These were made in the second week of January.

Sue us, we’re called Lazy Bakes.

Sugar cookies are classic, simple, and easy. Who needs cookie cutters when you have drinking glasses? The secret to the frosting, however, is “use a lot”. Just like butter, which this recipe had (but not too much). They were delicious, thanks for asking.

Adventures in Cheese: Tart Edition - I was suspicious when Zach pointed me toward Bite-sized Baked Brie because…brie. Because we’re awesome, we forgot the sticks, but luckily for us that’s not a requirement for making these and stuffing them directly into your mouth as fast as possible. They’re rich, and the cherry is the perfect compliment to the brie, suspicious as I was of the combination. I can only imagine any fruit jam would be just as fabulous. It’s a party in your mouth.

Extremely Lazy First Post

Welcome to Lazy Bakes, the blog of a couple attempting to demystifying baking for themselves. As may be obvious, this year our New Year’s resolution had zero to do with losing weight or getting healthy and more to do with maximizing how much butter we could jam into our bodies in a 365-day period. Each week we will tackle a dessert recipe, probably delicious, never nutritious, and if we do it correctly, scrumptious to the very last bite unless we set it on fire, and hey, depending on what it is, could still be good.

All pictures will be low-quality and iPhone based and featuring Terrible Lighting: Our Apartment. There will also be Butter. Butter is our friend.

PS. Hi, Mom(s).
